95th Infantry, Regimental Color. Composed of men from Philadelphia, the 95th was organized on August 23, 1861, and was nicknamed "Gosline's Zouaves" after Colonel Gosline. The regiment was first called the 45th, and then the 54th, and finally the 95th. Over the winter of 1863-1864 the regiment re-enlisted, and was mustered out of service on July 24, 1865. The regiment was first called the 45th, and then the 54th, and finally the 95th. The regiment did not receive the state color until March 18, 1862.
